What is an embouchure? The embouchure, which is literally the french word for "the mouth", is where the instrument's vibration is initiated on the body. This is where the action happens, and without proper embouchure formation, you will not produce a characteristic tone.

When thinking about creating the embouchure, you will need to consider three separate, yet connected concepts:
-
Posture- Proper body alignment.
-
Air Support- Proper breathing and air quality.
-
Embouchure- Formation of the mouth, both inside and outside the body.
